No one has seen God (the Father) at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in
the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. John 1.18
Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your descendants I will give this
land.” And there he built an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.
Genesis 12:7.
Note: Christians worship God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
We have an altar from which those who serve the
tabernacle have no right to eat. For the bodies of those animals, whose blood
is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside
the camp. Therefore, Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own
blood, suffered outside the gate. Therefore, let us go forth to Him, outside
the camp, bearing His reproach. Hebrews 13:10-13.
After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do
not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.” But
Abram said, “Lord God, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the
heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” Then Abram said, “Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one born in my house
is my heir!” And behold, the word of the Lord came to
him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your
own body shall be your heir.” Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now
toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said
to him, “So shall your descendants be.” And he believed in the Lord, and He
accounted it to him for righteousness. Genesis 15:1-6.
Note: Christians are justified before God
through sincere belief.
What then shall we say that Abraham our father
has found according to the flesh? For if Abraham was justified by works, he has
something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say?
“Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Now to
him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. Romans 4:1-4.
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to
him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My
covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” Then Abram
fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: “As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many
nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be
Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you
exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from
you. And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants
after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you
and your descendants after you. Genesis 17:1-7.
Note: Jesus Christ gave both the Old and New
Covenants to mankind.
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread,
blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this
is My body.” Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them,
saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant,
which is shed for many for the remission of sins." Matthew 26:26-28.
Then God said: “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call
his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting
covenant, and with his descendants after him. And as for Ishmael, I have heard
you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply
him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I will make him a great
nation. But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to
you at this set time next year.” Then He finished talking with him, and
God went up from Abraham. Genesis 17:19-22.
Note: Jesus Christ ascended into heaven after
speaking with Abraham.
Now when He had spoken these things, while they
watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And
while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men
stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you
stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into
heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” Acts
1:9-11.
Then the Lord appeared to him by the terebinth trees of Mamre,
as he was sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day. So
he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing by him; and
when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to
the ground, and said, “My Lord, if I have now found favor in Your sight, do not
pass on by Your servant. Please let a little water be brought, and wash your
feet, and rest yourselves under the tree. And I will bring a morsel of bread,
that you may refresh your hearts. After that you may pass by, inasmuch as you
have come to your servant.” They said, “Do as you have said.” Genesis 18:1-5.
Note: Jesus Christ approaches people in a
meditative state.
Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him,
“Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”
Nathanael answered and said to Him, “Rabbi, You are
the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!” Jesus answered and said to him,
“Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You
will see greater things than these.” And He said to him, “Most assuredly, I say
to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending
and descending upon the Son of Man.” John 1:48-51.
Then the Angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time out of heaven, and
said: “By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing,
and have not withheld your son, your only son— blessing I will bless you, and
multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as
the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate
of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed,
because you have obeyed My voice.” Genesis 22:15-18.
Note: Christians are blessed through faith in Jesus Christ.
Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does
He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? — just as Abraham
“believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Therefore, know
that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. And the Scripture,
foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to
Abraham beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.” So, then
those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. Galatians 3:5-9.
Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word
he shall never see death.” Then the Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You
have a demon! Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, ‘If anyone keeps
My word he shall never taste death.’ Are You greater
than our father Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets are dead. Who do You
make Yourself out to be?” Jesus answered, “If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom
you say that He is your God. Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if
I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and
keep His word. Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and
was glad.” Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and
have You seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you,
before Abraham was, I AM.” Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus
hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so
passed by. John 8:51-59.
1) You will die.
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish
in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who
put their trust in Him. Psalm 2:12.
2) You will be judged.
And whoever will not receive you nor hear you,
when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony
against them. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and
Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!” Mark 6:11.
3) You will be destroyed.
And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom
the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the
brightness of His coming. 2 Thessalonians 2:8.
4) You will be cast into hellfire alive.
He answered and said to them: “He who sows the
good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the
sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy
who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers
are the angels. Therefore, as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so
it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and
they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who
practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will
be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the
sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
Matthew 13:37-43.
For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the
ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good
man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward
us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then,
having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through
Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of
His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And
not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom we have now received the reconciliation. Romans 5:6-11.
