Insane Latter-day Saint (Mormon) Beliefs
1) LDS father god has a body of flesh and bones.
The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son
also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a
personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in
us. (Doctrine and Covenants 130:22) Instruction given by Joseph Smith
the Prophet, at Ramus, Illinois, April 2, 1843.
Correction: God the Father is Spirit.
“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." John 4:24
2) LDS father god lives near Kolob.
Kolob is a star or planet described in the Book of Abraham, a sacred
text of the Latter Day Saint movement. Several Latter Day Saint
denominations hold the Book of Abraham to have been translated from an
Egyptian papyrus scroll by Joseph Smith, the founder of the movement.
According to this work, Kolob is the heavenly body nearest to the
throne of God. While the Book of Abraham calls Kolob a "star", it also
calls planets "stars", and therefore some Latter Day Saint commentators
consider Kolob a planet. The body also appears in Latter Day Saint
culture, including a reference to Kolob in an LDS hymn. Wikipedia
Encyclopedia.
And the Lord said unto me: These are the governing ones; and the name
of the great one is Kolob, because it is near unto me, for I am the
Lord thy God: I have set this one to govern all those which belong to
the same order as that upon which thou standest. And the Lord said unto
me, by the Urim and Thummim, that Kolob was after the manner of the
Lord, according to its times and seasons in the revolutions thereof;
that one revolution was a day unto the Lord, after his manner of
reckoning, it being one thousand years according to the time appointed
unto that whereon thou standest. This is the reckoning of the Lord’s
time, according to the reckoning of Kolob. (Pearl of Great Price,
Abraham 3:3-4)
Correction: God the Father is not confined to a specific location.
“But Solomon built Him a house. However, the Most High does not dwell
in temples made with hands, as the prophet says: 'Heaven is My throne,
and earth is My footstool. What house will you build for Me? says the
Lord, or what is the place of My rest? Has My hand not made all these
things?'” Acts 7:47-50
3) LDS father and mother gods birthed all humans premortal.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches that all human
beings, male and female, are beloved spirit children of heavenly
parents, a Heavenly Father and a Heavenly Mother. This understanding is
rooted in scriptural and prophetic teachings about the nature of God,
our relationship to Deity, and the godly potential of men and women.
The doctrine of a Heavenly Mother is a cherished and distinctive belief
among Latter-day Saints. (Mother in Heaven, lds.org)
Correction: God created all human beings on the earth.
"For ask now concerning the days that are past, which were before you,
since the day that God created man on the earth and ask from one end of
heaven to the other, whether any great thing like this has happened, or
anything like it has been heard.” Deuteronomy 4:32
4) LDS father god had physical sex with Mary.
“That Child to be born of Mary was begotten of Elohim, the Eternal
Father, not in violation of natural law but in accordance with a higher
manifestation thereof; … In His nature would be combined the powers of
Godhood with the capacity and possibilities of mortality; and this
through the ordinary operation of the fundamental law of heredity,
declared of God, demonstrated by science, and admitted by philosophy,
that living beings shall propagate—after their kind. The Child Jesus
was to inherit the physical, mental, and spiritual traits, tendencies,
and powers that characterized His parents—one immortal and
glorified—God, the other human—woman” (Jesus the Christ, 3rd ed.
[1916]).
Correction: Mary became pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was
betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with
child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man,
and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her
away secretly. But while he thought about these things, behold, an
angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of
David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which
is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 1:18-20
5) The LDS god had sex with his daughter per implication.
God is not only our Ruler and Creator; He is also our Heavenly Father.
All men and women are literally the sons and daughters of God. “Man, as
a spirit, was begotten and born of heavenly parents, and reared to
maturity in the eternal mansions of the Father, prior to coming upon
the earth in a temporal [physical] body” (Teachings of Presidents of
the Church: Joseph F. Smith [1998]).
Correction: Incest is denounced by God.
“None of you shall approach anyone who is near of kin to him, to uncover his nakedness: I am the Lord.” Leviticus 18:6
6) Jesus Christ had other brothers and sisters in the pre-existence.
Because Heavenly Father knew we would all make mistakes, he explained
that we would need a savior to atone for our sins so that we could
repent and receive forgiveness. One of the spirits among us was like
God. He offered to serve Heavenly Father and all the spirit children by
being the Savior. This was Jesus. Because of his great love for us, his
brothers and sisters, he offered to give his life to atone for our
sins. He would also teach us what we must do to return to Heavenly
Father. Unselfishly he said to Heavenly Father, “Thy will be done, and
the glory be thine forever.” (The Great Council in Heaven, lds.org)
Correction: Jesus Christ is God from eternity.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through
Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. John 1:1-3
7) Jesus Christ was married at Cana.
Gentlemen, that is as plain as the translators, or different councils
over this Scripture, dare allow it to go to the world, but the thing is
there; it is told; Jesus was the bridegroom at the marriage of Cana of
Galilee, and he told them what to do. Now there was actually a
marriage; and if Jesus was not the bridegroom on that occasion, please
tell who was. If any man can show this and prove that it was not the
Savior of the world, then I will acknowledge I am in error. We say it
was Jesus Christ who was married, to be brought into the relation
whereby he could see his seed before he was crucified. (Journal of
Discourses; Orson Hyde October 6, 1854, page 82)
Correction: Jesus Christ was not the bridegroom at Cana.
On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother
of Jesus was there. Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to
the wedding. John 2:1-2
Jesus said to them, "Fill the waterpots with water." And they filled
them up to the brim. And He said to them, "Draw some out now, and take
it to the master of the feast." And they took it. When the master of
the feast had tasted the water that was made wine and did not know
where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the
master of the feast called the bridegroom. And he said to him, "Every
man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have
well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!"
John 2:7-10
8) The LDS message is family.
President Boyd K. Packer taught, “The ultimate purpose of every
teaching, every activity in the Church is that parents and their
children are happy at home, sealed in an eternal marriage, and linked
to their generations” (“The Father and the Family,” Ensign or Liahona,
May 1994). Family relationships extend beyond the grave when we are
sealed by the priesthood of God in a holy temple and remain faithful.

Correction: The Christian message or gospel is Jesus Christ.
Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to
you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you
are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you--unless
you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I
also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the
Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third
day according to the Scriptures.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4
9) Humans can become gods and goddesses through marriage.
And again, verily I say unto you, if a man marry a wife by my word,
which is my law, and by the new and everlasting covenant, and it is
sealed unto them by the Holy Spirit of promise, by him who is anointed,
unto whom I have appointed this power and the keys of this priesthood;
and it shall be said unto them—Ye shall come forth in the first
resurrection; and if it be after the first resurrection, in the next
resurrection; and shall inherit thrones, kingdoms, principalities, and
powers, dominions, all heights and depths—then shall it be written in
the Lamb’s Book of Life, that he shall commit no murder whereby to shed
innocent blood, and if ye abide in my covenant, and commit no murder
whereby to shed innocent blood, it shall be done unto them in all
things whatsoever my servant hath put upon them, in time, and through
all eternity; and shall be of full force when they are out of the
world; and they shall pass by the angels, and the gods, which are set
there, to their exaltation and glory in all things, as hath been sealed
upon their heads, which glory shall be a fulness and a continuation of
the seeds forever and ever. Then shall they be gods, because they have
no end; therefore shall they be from everlasting to everlasting,
because they continue; then shall they be above all, because all things
are subject unto them. Then shall they be gods, because they have all
power, and the angels are subject unto them. (Doctrine and Covenants
132:19-20) Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at
Nauvoo, Illinois as recorded on July 12, 1843.
Correction: Saved humans will be like angels in heaven.
Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the
Scriptures nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither
marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven.”
Matthew 22:29-30
10) The LDS message to attain godhood is works.
The time to fulfill the requirements for exaltation is now (see Alma
34:32–34). President Joseph Fielding Smith said, “In order to obtain
the exaltation we must accept the gospel and all its covenants; and
take upon us the obligations which the Lord has offered; and walk in
the light and the understanding of the truth; and ‘live by every word
that proceedeth forth from the mouth of God’” (Doctrines of Salvation,
2:43) lds.org
Correction: Christian salvation from damnation is sincere belief in Jesus Christ.
“He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not
believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on
him." John 3:36
11) Every LDS god and goddess will have their own planet.
We read in the revelations of God that there are various classes of
beings in the eternal worlds. There are some who are kings, priests,
and Gods, others that are angels; and also among them are the orders
denominated celestial, terrestrial, and telestial. God, however,
according to the faith of the Latter-day Saints, has ordained that the
highest order and class of beings that should exist in the eternal
worlds should exist in the capacity of husbands and wives, and that
they alone should have the privilege of propagating their
species—intelligent immortal beings. (Journal of Discourses, Orson
Pratt October 7, 1869, page 186)
Correction: In eternity, there will be a convergence of God and humans.
Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of
heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I
heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God
is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people.
God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away
every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow,
nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have
passed away." Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all
things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and
faithful." Revelation 21:2-5
12) LDS gods and goddesses will have numerous children.
“What do we mean by endless or eternal increase? We mean that through
the righteousness and faithfulness of men and women who keep the
commandments of God they will come forth with celestial bodies, fitted
and prepared to enter into their great, high and eternal glory in the
celestial kingdom of God; and unto them through their preparation,
there will come spirit children. I don’t think that is very difficult
to comprehend. The nature of the offspring is determined by the nature
of the substance that flows in the veins of the being. When blood flows
in the veins of the being the offspring will be what blood produces,
which is tangible flesh and bone; but when that which flows in the
veins is spirit matter, a substance which is more refined and pure and
glorious than blood, the offspring of such beings will be spirit
children. By that I mean they will be in the image of the parents. They
will have a spirit body and have a spark of the eternal or divine that
always did exist in them” (Melvin J. Ballard—Crusader for
Righteousness, 211) lds.org
Correction: The focus in heaven will be God not sex.
Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne,
the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten
thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a
loud voice: "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and
riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!" And
every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth
and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:
"Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the
throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!" Then the four living
creatures said, "Amen!" And the twenty-four elders fell down and
worshiped Him who lives forever and ever. Revelation 5:11-14
