MOSES vs. JESUS CHRIST
A Contrast
Hebrews 3:1-2 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly
calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession,
Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses
also was faithful in all His house.
Note: God through Moses saved Israel while the Father through
the Son saves believers.
John 3:14-15 "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the
wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."
John 6:32-33 Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to
you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father
gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is He who
comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."
Hebrews 3:3 For this One has been counted worthy of more glory
than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than
the house.
Note: Jesus Christ as "the builder" is greater than Moses as
declared by the Father.
Mark 9:4-7 And Elijah appeared to them with Moses, and they were
talking with Jesus. Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it
is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for
You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah"; because he did not know what
to say, for they were greatly afraid. And a cloud came and
overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This
is My beloved Son. Hear Him!"
Hebrews 3:4 For every house is built by someone, but He who built
all things is God.
Note: Jesus Christ is God by definition since He is the
Creator.
Colossians 1:16-18 For by Him all things were created that
are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether
thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were
created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in
Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church,
who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things
He may have the preeminence.
Hebrews 3:5-6 And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a
servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken
afterward, but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are
if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to
the end.
Note: Moses was only a foreshadow of the greatness of Jesus
Christ.
Acts 3:22-23 "For Moses truly said to the fathers, 'The LORD your
God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him
you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you. And it shall
be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly
destroyed from among the people.'"
Note: God resides with true Christians who have the assurance
of their salvation.
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he
will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to
him and make Our home with him."
Note: Have you drank from the spiritual Rock of Jesus Christ or
are you under the Law?
1 Corinthians 10:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be
unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through
the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea,
all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual
drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and
that Rock was Christ.
John 1:17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth
came through Jesus Christ.
