REMEMBER THE SACRIFICE OF JESUS
CHRIST
Do You Take the Death of Jesus Christ for Your Sins Seriously?
1) Remember the prophecy pronouncement of His Sacrifice for you.
Isaiah
53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our
iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His
stripes we are healed.
2) Remember the pronouncement by Christ of His Sacrifice for you.
Matthew
20:27-28 "And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your
slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,
and to give His life a ransom for many."
3) Remember the preaching of the apostles of His Sacrifice for you.
1
Corinthians 1:22-24 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after
wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block
and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews
and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
4) Remember that the Christian Gospel is about His Sacrifice for you.
1
Corinthians 15:1-5 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel
which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you
stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I
preached to you; unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you
first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins
according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose
again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen
by Cephas, then by the twelve.
5) Remember the sacrifice of His body for your sins.
Luke
22:19 And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them,
saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance
of Me."
John
6:51 "I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats
of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is
My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world."
6) Remember the sacrifice of His blood for your sins.
Mark
14:23-24 Then He took the cup, and when He had given thanks He gave it
to them, and they all drank from it. And He said to them, "This is My
blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many."
John
6:53-54 Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless
you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no
life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal
life, and I will raise him up at the last day."
7) Remember the importance of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for your sins.
Hebrews
9:24-26 For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands,
which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in
the presence of God for us; not that He should offer Himself often, as
the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of
another; He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of
the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put
away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.
1
Corinthians 11:27-28 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this
cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and
blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of
the bread and drink of the cup.
