Savior of Believers
1) God declares Himself to be the only God and Savior.
Tell and bring forth your case; Yes, let them take counsel together.
Who has declared this from ancient time? Who has told it from that
time? Have not I, the LORD? And there is no other God besides Me, a
just God and a Savior; There is none besides Me. “Look to Me, and be
saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.
Isaiah 45:21-22
“Yet I am the LORD your God ever since the land of Egypt, and you shall
know no God but Me; For there is no Savior besides Me.” Hosea 13:4

2) Believers proclaimed God as their Savior.
Then David spoke to the LORD the words of this song, on the day when
the LORD had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from
the hand of Saul. And he said: “The LORD is my rock and my fortress and
my deliverer; The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield
and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; my Savior,
You save me from violence. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to
be praised; So, shall I be saved from my enemies. 2 Samuel 22:1-4
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD, who
spoke to the LORD the words of this song on the day that the LORD
delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of
Saul. And he said: I will love You, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my
rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I
will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I
will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So, shall I be
saved from my enemies. Psalms 18:1-3
And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.” Luke 1:46-47

3) God is the Savior of the nation of Israel.
I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD and the praises of the
LORD, according to all that the LORD has bestowed on us, and the great
goodness toward the house of Israel, which He has bestowed on them
according to His mercies, according to the multitude of His
lovingkindnesses. For He said, “Surely they are My people, children who
will not lie.” So, He became their Savior. Isaiah 63:7-8
“After that He gave them judges for about four hundred and fifty years,
until Samuel the prophet. And afterward they asked for a king; so, God
gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for
forty years. And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David
as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, I have found David
the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’
From this man’s seed, according to the promise, God raised up for
Israel a Savior—Jesus— after John had first preached, before His
coming, the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. And as
John was finishing his course, he said, Who do you think I am? I am not
He. But behold, there comes One after me, the sandals of whose feet I
am not worthy to loose.’” Acts 13:20-25

4) Believers are witnesses to the only God and Savior.
“You are My witnesses,” says the LORD, “and My servant whom I have
chosen, that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He.
Before Me there was no God formed, nor shall there be after Me. I, even
I, am the LORD, and besides Me there is no savior. I have declared and
saved, I have proclaimed, and there was no foreign god among you;
Therefore, you are My witnesses,” Says the LORD, “that I am God.”
Isaiah 43:10-12
But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey
God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you
murdered by hanging on a tree. Him God has exalted to His right hand to
be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of
sins. And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy
Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.” Acts 5:29-32
Note: Are you a witness for Jesus Christ as your Savior?
5) An angel of God proclaimed Jesus Christ as the Savior.
Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields,
keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the
Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them,
and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be
afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be
to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a
Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:8-11

6) Jesus Christ declares Himself to be the Savior.
“For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.” Matthew 18:11
And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because
he also is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek and to
save that which was lost.” Luke 19:9-10
“I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” John 10:9
Note: Will you proclaim Jesus Christ as your Savior?
7) Believers proclaimed Jesus Christ as the Savior.
And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the
word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.” So,
when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them;
and He stayed there two days. And many more believed because of His own
word. Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what
you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is
indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.” John 4:39-42

8) Paul proclaimed Jesus Christ as the Savior.
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for
the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body
that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working
by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself. Philippians
3:20-21
This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ
Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. However,
for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might
show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe
on Him for everlasting life. Now to the King eternal, immortal,
invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and
ever. Amen. 1 Timothy 1:15-17

9) Paul used God and Jesus Christ interchangeably.
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the commandment of God our Savior
and the Lord Jesus Christ, our hope, to Timothy, a true son in the
faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our
Lord. 1 Timothy 1:1-2
Therefore, I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers,
intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and
all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life
in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the
sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to
the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-4
For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in
the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who
believe. 1 Timothy 4:10
Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His
prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according
to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy
calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose
and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, but
has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who
has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through
the gospel, to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a
teacher of the Gentiles. 2 Timothy 1:8-11
Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to
the faith of God’s elect and the acknowledgment of the truth which
accords with godliness, in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot
lie, promised before time began, but has in due time manifested His
word through preaching, which was committed to me according to the
commandment of God our Savior; To Titus, a true son in our common
faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus
Christ our Savior. Titus 1:1-4
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live
soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the
blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus
Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every
lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for
good works. Titus 2:11-14
But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man
appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but
according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration
and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly
through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His
grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Titus 3:4-7

10) Peter proclaimed Jesus Christ as the Savior.
Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who
have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our
God and Savior Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you in
the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has
given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the
knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been
given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these
you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the
corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 Peter 1:1-4
Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and
election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for
so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting
kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:10-11
You, therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest
you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the
error of the wicked; but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever.
Amen. 2 Peter 3:17-18

11) John proclaimed Jesus Christ as the Savior.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the
Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish
but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have
everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to
condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John
3:14-17
No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in
us, and His love has been perfected in us. By this we know that we
abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us His Spirit. And we
have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the
world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in
him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God
has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and
God in him. 1 John 4:12-16

12) Benediction for Believers.
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you
faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God
our Savior, Who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and
power, both now and forever. Amen. Jude 1:24-25
