WATCHTOWER - FEBRUARY 1, 2000

Page 6: As the Creator, he knows what is best for his creatures. So if we persist in learning God's instructions and applying them in our lives, such persistence will surely bring us happiness.

Note: Are you abiding in the love of Jesus?

John 15:10-11 "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full."

Page 6: Additionally, taking in knowledge of God and of Jesus "means everlasting life," says Jesus. (John 17:3)

Correction: Knowing Jesus personally means everlasting life.

John 14:7 "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him."

Note: The Watch Tower has mistranslated John 17:3.

John 17:3 "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."

Page 6: Soon God's Kingdom, his righteous government, will assert its rule over earth's inhabitants. (Daniel 2:44; Matthew 6:10) This government will usher in an unprecedented era of peace, prosperity, and well-being for all obedient mankind. (Psalm 37:10, 11; Revelation 21:4)

Correction: Jesus Christ as GOD will usher in an era of peach, prosperity, and well-being.

Ezekiel 20:33 "As I live," says the Lord GOD, "surely with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, I will rule over you."

Revelation 19:15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

Page 6: "God is not partial," says Acts 10:34. Yes, everyone is invited to enjoy the benefits.

Note: Since God is not partial, everyone is invited to enjoy the benefits of being in heaven.

Philippians 3:20-21 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

Page 6: The apostle Paul reminds us that God will give everlasting life to those who show "endurance in work that is good." (Romans 2:7) Jehovah's Witnesses would be pleased to help you attain this goal.

Correction: In context, the "endurance in work that is good" can only be done through Jesus.

Romans 3:21-22 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe.

Page 7: Likewise today, many of Jehovah's Witnesses have accepted the challenge of moving to another country in order to serve where the need is greater.

Note: There are no publishers in the Peoples Republic of China that has 1.3 billion people!

Page 7: As a result of the activity of this enthusiastic group of preachers, several seamen, including a captain, a marine officer, and a former bodyguard, have accepted the truth. Now they too help to spread the good news of God's Kingdom worldwide. - Matthew 24:14.

Note: In context, Jehovah's Witnesses are not suffering for the name of Jesus.

Matthew 24:9 "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake."

Page 7: As in other parts of the world. Jehovah's Witnesses in the Netherlands are determined to do their part in declaring the everlasting good news to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people.

Correction: Jehovah's Witnesses are no angels and their message is about paradise earth.

Rev. 14:6-7 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth; to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people; saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water."

Page 8: We can do so in divinely inspired prophetic words about God's appointed time. They assure us that Jehovah will soon execute judgment upon all wicked ones.

Note: Jesus Christ will soon execute judgment upon all wicked ones.

Revelation 6:15-17 And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?"

Page 8: Only then will the earth become completely "filled with the knowing of the glory of Jehovah as the waters themselves cover over the sea." That is the prophetic promise found in God's Sacred Word at Habakkuk 2:14.

Note: You can know God now.

John 8:19 Then they said to Him, "Where is Your Father?" Jesus answered, "You know neither Me nor My Father. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also."

Page 8: Written about 628 B.C.E., the book of Habakkuk consists of a series of three executional judgments of Jehovah God.

Correction: The prophecies of Habakkuk occurred between 605 and 600 B.C.E.

An important event during this period was the battle of Carchemish in 605 B.C., when Pharaoh Necho II was his Egyptian army, who had come to assist the Assyrians against Babylon, were soundly defeated by Nebuchandnezzar II. Soon afterward, Judah also, like the other previously independent kingdoms of Syro-Palestine, became subject to the powerful Neo-Babylonians. Habakkuk's inspired vision therefore may be dated to the period between 605 and 600 B.C. when the Babylonians became the dominant force on the international scene, mercilessly sweeping aside all opposition (1:5-17). New Geneva Study Bible notes.

Page 11: As noted at Habakkuk 1:12, the prophet says: "Are you not from long ago, O Jehovah? O my God, my Holy One, you do not die."

Note: Jesus Christ is the Holy One of Israel.

Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God."

Acts 2:27 For You will not leave my soul in Hades, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

Pages 11-12: Indeed, Jehovah is God "from time indefinite to time indefinite" - forever.

Note: Indeed, Jesus Christ has never changed in His essence.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Page 12: Reflecting on his God-given vision and rejoicing in the insight it provided, the prophet continues: "O Jehovah, for a judgment you have set it; and, O Rock, for a reproving you have founded it."

Note: Jesus Christ is the Rock.

1 Corinthians 10:4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

Page 12: His faith in Jehovah as a God who does not tolerate evil makes him wonder why wickedness prevails, but he is willing to have his thinking adjusted. Well, then, what about us?

Note: True Christians will place their faith in Jesus Christ.

Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."

Pages 12-13: True to his word to Habakkuk, God executed judgment upon the wayward Jewish nation by allowing the Babylonians to invade Judah. In 607 B.C.E., they destroyed Jerusalem and the temple, killed old and young alike, and took many captives. (2 Chronicles 36:17-20)

Page 13: Jehovah had more work for Habakkuk to do before Jerusalem's destruction in 607 B.C.E.

Correction: Jerusalem was destroyed in 586 B.C.E.

In 588 BC Zedekiah led a revolt against Chaldea, and two years later Nebuchadnezzar's army destroyed Judah and razed Jerusalem. Funk & Wagnalls Encyclopedia, Volume 15, page 57.

Page 13: Is Jehovah going to do an unbelievable "work" in our day? Be assured that he will, even though that seems unbelievable to doubters. This time, Jehovah's unbelievable work will be the destruction of Christendom.

Correction: The next prophecy fulfilled may be the destruction of armies in the middle east.

Ezekiel 38:16 "You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It will be in the latter days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me, when I am hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes."

Joel 2:20 "But I will remove far from you the northern army, and will drive him away into a barren and desolate land, with his face toward the eastern sea and his back toward the western sea; His stench will come up, and his foul odor will rise, because he has done monstrous things."

Page 14: After World War I, Jehovah restored the faithful anointed remnant to a state of vibrant activity.

Note: The Watch Tower faithful anointed remnant were not Jesus witnesses.

Acts 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

Page 14: Similarly today, we do not know 'the day and the hour' set for this system's end, but Jesus had forewarned us: "Prove yourselves ready, because at an hour that you do not think to be it, the Son of man is coming." - Matthew 24:36, 44.

Note: Are you looking for the return of Jesus Christ?

1 Thessalonians 2:19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?

Pages 14-15: Today, wickedness and violence run rampant throughout the earth, indicating that we stand at the very brink of "the great and fear-inspiring day of Jehovah." (Joel 2:31) Encouraging, indeed, are Jehovah's own words of assurance: "It will not be late"!

Correction: True Christians will not be looking forward to the wrath of God.

Joel 2:11 The LORD gives voice before His army, For His camp is very great; For strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; Who can endure it?

Page 15: In contrast, the peace-loving anointed servants of God have endured in faithfulness.

Correction: Watch Tower anointed servants have endured with the slander of Christendom.

Page 28: After that, clergy-inspired opposition disrupted our work in Zaire.

Page 15: This nation, along with its companions, the "other sheep," follow the admonition: "Trust in Jehovah, you people, for all times, for in Jah Jehovah is the Rock of times indefinite."

Note: Have you put your trust in Jesus Christ?

Psalm 2:12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.

Page 15: Like Paul, we of Jehovah's holy nation must 'stretch forward to the things ahead, pursuing down toward the goal' of everlasting life. (Philippians 3:13, 14)

Correction: True Christians will have everlasting life in Jesus Christ.

Philippians 3:14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Page 15: And like Jesus, we must 'endure for the joy that is set before us.' - Hebrews 12:2.

Note: Are you suffering for the name of Jesus?

Matthew 10:22 "And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved."

Page 16: Only Jehovah God can unite all mankind and he will accomplish this through the Messianic Kingdom. - Matthew 6:9, 10.

Correction: Only Jesus Christ can truly unite people throughout eternity.

Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Page 16: What bloodguilt we find on the earth today! Jesus plainly stated: "All those who take the sword will perish by the sword." (Matthew 26:52)

Note: Murderers will finally die ruthlessly, but Jesus allows people to defend themselves.

Luke 22:36 Then He said to them, "But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one."

Pages 16-17: When the Pharisees objected to the crowds' hailing Jesus as "the One coming as the King in Jehovah's name," he said: "I tell you, If these remained silent, the stones would cry out." (Luke 19:38-40) Likewise, if God's people today were to fail in exposing the wickedness that exists in this world, 'out of the wall a stone itself would cry out plaintively.'

Correction: True Christians proclaim Jesus Christ to the dismay of Watch Tower Pharisees.

Acts 8:5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them.

Page 17: We have only to mention the Crusades, which pitted so-called Christians against Muslims; the Catholic Inquisition in Spain and Latin America; Europe's Thirty Years' War between Protestants and Catholics; and the bloodiest of them all, the two world wars of our century, both of which started in the realm of Christendom.

Note: Only half of Christians are true Christians of which none are Jehovah's Witnesses.

Matt. 25:1-2 "Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

Matthew 25:11-12 "Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!' But he answered and said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.'

Correction: The "first world war" began and ended in Europe.

Correction: The "second world war" began in the Pacific region by Japan and in Europe by Germany. The Watch Tower obviously does not have any historians on staff.

Page 17: Only recently has the Roman Catholic hierarchy in France confessed that it failed to oppose the sending of hundreds of thousands of victims to Nazi death chambers.

Note: Have you confessed your sins? Are you still calling the Holy Spirit just a force?

Mark 3:28-29 "Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation";

Page 17: Will Jehovah execute judgment on war-mongering nations? Habakkuk 2:13 states: "Look! Is it not from Jehovah of armies that peoples will toil on only for the fire, and that national groups will tire themselves out merely for nothing?" "Jehovah of armies"! Yes, Jehovah has heavenly armies angelic armies, which he will use in bringing warlike peoples and nations to nothing!

Correction: "Jehovah of armies" is referring to Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 1:24 Therefore the Lord says, The LORD of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel, "Ah, I will rid Myself of My adversaries, and take vengeance on My enemies."

John 5:22 "For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,"

Page 17: What will follow Jehovah's execution of judgment on those violent national groups? Habakkuk 2:14 provides the answer: "The earth will be filled with the knowing of the glory of Jehovah as the waters themselves cover the sea."

Note: True Christians know now that the glory of the Father and the Son is the glory of Jehovah.

Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images.

Matthew 16:27 "For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works."

Matthew 25:31 "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory."

John 11:4 When Jesus heard that, He said, "This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it."

John 17:5 "And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was."

Page 17: At Armageddon, Jehovah's sovereignty will be forever vindicated. (Revelation 16:16)

Correction: Jesus Christ will be unveiled as God Almighty at Armageddon.

Matthew 24:30 "Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."

Revelation 16:15 "Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame."

Pages 17-18: He assures us that he will 'glorify the very place of his feet,' this earth on which we live. (Isaiah 60:13)

Note: The Mount of Olives will split apart from the touch of Jesus' feet.

Zechariah 14:4 And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, making a very large valley; half of the mountain shall move toward the north and half of it toward the south.

Page 18: All mankind will be educated in God's way of life, so that knowledge of Jehovah's glorious purposes will fill the earth even as the oceans fill the sea basins.

Correction: No education will be necessary to sing praises to the Father and the Son.

Revelation 5:13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: "Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!"

Pages 18-19: To this day, both Christendom and so-called heathendom bow to their crucifixes, Madonnas, icons, and other likenesses of man and beast.

Note: Are you mentally worshipping the murals and pictures of paradise earth?

Exodus 20:4 "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;"

Deuteronomy 5:8 "You shall not make for yourself a carved image; any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;"

Page 19: However, we today are privileged to worship in a far grander spiritual temple arrangement, where our Lord Jesus Christ is installed as High Priest.

Note: True Christians are slaves of Jesus Christ.

Romans 1:1 Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle,

Page 19: Here, in the earthly courtyard of that temple, we meet, serve, and pray, rendering to Jehovah the honor that is due his glorious name. And what joy we have in rendering heartfelt worship to our loving heavenly Father!

Note: Are you honoring the name of Jesus?

Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Note: Are you honoring Jesus just as Jehovah?

John 5:23 "that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him."

Page 19: Today, his prayer has a great deal of meaning for God's people, who are engaged in the Kingdom-preaching work.

Note: True Christians will preach Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 1:22-24 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

Page 20: Habakkuk's prayer, or dirge, gives us strong reason to be joyful in Jehovah, the God of our salvation.

Note: True Christians are joyful in Jesus.

John 17:13 "But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves."

Page 20: No wonder the prophet cried out: "O Jehovah, I have heard the report about you. I have become afraid, O Jehovah, of your activity"! What did he mean?
Answer: The day of the LORD will be terrible.

Amos 5:18 Woe to you who desire the day of the LORD! For what good is the day of the LORD to you? It will be darkness, and not light.

Page 20: When Jehovah moves against his enemies at Armageddon, there will be a similar display of his irresistible might.

Note: The enemies of God will hide from the irresistible might of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 6:15-16 And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!"

Page 20: Habakkuk also states: "(Jehovah's) dignity covered the heavens; and with his praise the earth became filled. As for his brightness, it got to be just like the light."

Note: In the future, true Christians will walk in the brightness of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 21:23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.

Page 20: And discerning Christians see something in addition to Jehovah's glory. Habakkuk 3:4 concludes: "He had two rays issuing out of his hand, and there the hiding of his strength was." Yes, we see that Jehovah is ready to act, using his right hand of strength and power.

Correction:Discerning Christians see rays of glory coming from the nail-pierced hands of Jesus.

Page 21: Human organizations - even those that seem as permanent as "the eternal mountains" and "the indefinitely lasting hills" - will crumble.

Note: Yes, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania will crumble.

Page 22: These same forces of flood, torrential rain, and watery deep will be at Jehovah's disposal at Armageddon.

Note: These same forces of nature are at the command of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 8:26-27 But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, "Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?"

Page 22: Still, Jehovah will not destroy at random. Some humans will be saved. "You went forth for the salvation of your people, to save your anointed one," says Habakkuk 3:13. Yes, Jehovah will save his faithful anointed servants.

Correction: The Watch Tower has mistranslated Scripture. Jesus doesn't need to be saved.

Habakkuk 3:13 You went forth for the salvation of Your people, for salvation with Your Anointed. You struck the head from the house of the wicked, by laying bare from foundation to neck. Selah

Note: The Father and the Son will be with true Christians.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him."

Page 22: Soon, Jehovah's servants will be attacked by the forces of Gog of Magog. (Ezekiel 38:1-39:13; Revelation 17:1-5, 16-18) Will that satanic assault succeed? No!

Correction: During the great tribulation, a world leader will overcome the saints for a while.

Daniel 7:25 He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand for a time and times and half a time.

Revelation 17:6 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.

Note: Are you suffering for Jesus?

Pages 22-23: Like highwaymen lying in wait, the nations will leap out upon Jehovah's worshipers to destroy them. These enemies of God and of his people will be in "high glee," confident of success.

Note: Are you suffering for the name of Jesus?

John 15:21 "But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake,"

Page 23: Faithful Christians will appear weak, like "an afflicted one." But when the anti-God forces launch their attack, Jehovah will make them turn their weapons against themselves.

Note: Are you suffering for the name of Jesus?

Acts 5:41 So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.

Page 23: Jehovah will use superhuman spirit forces to complete the destruction of his foes. With the "horses" of his heavenly armies under Jesus Christ, he will push onward victoriously through "the sea" and "the heap of vast waters," that is, the surging mass of enemy humanity.

Correction: Jesus Christ will destroy the non-believers.

Isaiah 63:2-6 Why is Your apparel red, and Your garments like one who treads in the winepress? "I have trodden the winepress alone, and from the peoples no one was with Me. For I have trodden them in My anger, and trampled them in My fury; their blood is sprinkled upon My garments, and I have stained all My robes. For the day of vengeance is in My heart, and the year of My redeemed has come. I looked, but there was no one to help, and I wondered that there was no one to uphold; therefore My own arm brought salvation for Me; and My own fury, it sustained Me. I have trodden down the peoples in My anger, made them drunk in My fury, and brought down their strength to the earth."

Note: The wrath of God is the wrath of Jesus.

Revelation 19:15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

Page 24: Habakkuk was very agitated - understandably so. But was his faith shaken? In no way! He was willing to wait quietly for Jehovah's great day. (2 Peter 3:11; 12) Is that not our attitude too? Surely it is! We have full faith that Habakkuk's prophecy will be fulfilled. Until it is, however, we will wait patiently.

Note: The day of Jehovah is the day of Jesus.

1 Corinthians 5:4-5 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, along with my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Page 24: Warfare always brings hardship, even to the eventual victors. Food may run short. Property may be lost. Standards of living may go down. If that happens to us, how will we react?

Note: Are you suffering for the name of Jesus?

Matt. 19:29 "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life."

Page 24: Habakkuk realistically expected hardships, perhaps famine. Still, he never lost his joy in Jehovah, from whom his salvation came.

Note: Do you have the joy of Jesus?

John 15:11 "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.

John 17:13 "But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves."

Page 24: Jesus foretold that wars, famines, earthquakes, and pestilences would be part of 'the sign of presence' in royal power. (Matthew 24:3-14; Luke 21:10, 11)

Correction: Wars, famines, earthquakes, and pestilences would precede His return.

Matthew 24:6 "And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet."

Note: Jesus has been present for true Christians for nearly 2000 years.

Matthew 28:20 "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

Page 24: Many of our fellow believers live in lands severely afflicted by the fulfillment of Jesus' words, and they suffer great hardships as a result.

Note: True believers suffer for the name of Jesus.

Mark 13:13 "And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved."

Page 24: Moreover, we have support. Jesus promised: "Keep on, then, seeking first the kingdom and his (God's) righteousness, and all these other things will be added to you." (Matthew 6:33)

Note: The kingdom of God concerns Jesus Christ.

Acts 28:30-31 Then Paul dwelt two whole years in his own rented house, and received all who came to him, preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence, no one forbidding him.

Page 24: Whatever temporary hardships we have to face, we will not lose faith in Jehovah's saving power.

Note: True Christians do not lose faith in Jesus Christ.

Galatians 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

Page 25: For this, she was often threatened by our neighbors. In fact, she was arrested and ill - treated many times for preaching the Bible's message. So we soon learned the truth of Jesus' words: "You will be objects of hatred by all nations on account of my name." - Matthew 24:9.

Note: Did they suffer for the name of Jesus or Jehovah?

Page 25: The activities of Jehovah's Witnesses were then banned in Canada because they followed the example of early Christians and did not become involved in the wars of the nations.

Correction: True Christians will suffer for preaching the name of Jesus.

Acts 5:27-28 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them, saying, "Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man's blood on us!"

Page 27: As a result, the Watch Tower Society's Legal Department took action against the government of Quebec. After many years of legal battle, Jehovah gave us two great victories before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Note: The apostle Paul never used attorneys to defend himself before ruling authorities.

Acts 25:26 "I have nothing certain to write to my lord concerning him. Therefore I have brought him out before you, and especially before you, King Agrippa,"
