Page 5: What does it mean to be created "in God's image? Simply this: Man was made in the likeness of God, having godly attributes - such as justice, wisdom, and love - that set him apart from animals. (Compare Colossians 3:9, 10.)
Correction: God created humans with a spirit.
John 4:24 "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
1 Corinthians 6:20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.
Page 5: Saying that was a hateful lie - an act of sin. By stating this lie, the angel made himself a sinner. As a result, he came to be called the Devil, a slanderer, and Satan, an opposer of God.
Correction: Satan fell into sin through pride.
Isaiah 14:12-15 "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.' Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, To the lowest depths of the Pit."
Page 7: Jesus' ransom sacrifice can benefit us right now. By exercising faith in it, we can enjoy a clean standing before God and come under Jehovah's loving and tender care.
Correction: Jesus Christ is not an it.
Galatians 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
Page 19: Today, Jehovah's people stand at the threshold of the righteous new world. Entry into it will be the blessed privilege of those who continue to reject this world's vices.
Correction: Faith in Jesus Christ justifies a person before God and allows entrance.
Romans 3:20-22 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe.
Romans 5:1-2 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 8:1-2 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
Page 25: More than a decade later, Adventist preacher James White (who later married Ellen Harmon) coined a phrase to describe the nature of Christ's work since October 1844. In the Review and Herald of January 29, 1857, White said that Jesus had begun an "investigative judgment." And this has remained a fundamental belief among some seven million who call themselves Seventh-Day Adventists.
Note: Charles T. Russell, the founder of the Watchtower, was a Seventh-Day Adventist and made several false prophecies when Jesus would return or begin His rule invisibly.
