Have You Received the Gift from God?
Note: Jesus Christ is the source of the gift of God or eternal life.
Jesus
answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is
who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He
would have given you living water.” John 4:10
Note: The gift of God cannot be purchased with money.
But
Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought
that the gift of God could be purchased with money! You have neither
part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the
sight of God. Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if
perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. For I see that
you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.” Acts 8:20-23.
Note: The gift of God cannot be earned through your good works.
For
by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves;
it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9.
Note: The gift of the Holy Spirit or eternal life is available to everyone.
While
Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all
those who heard the word. And those of the circumcision who believed
were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the
Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. Acts 10:44-45.
Note: The gift of righteousness comes through through Jesus Christ.
But
the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense
many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the
one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. And the gift is not like that
which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from
one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from
many offenses resulted in justification. For if by the one man’s
offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive
abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life
through the One, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:15-17.
Note: The gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ.
For
when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now
ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now having been set
free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to
holiness, and the end, everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death,
but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans
6:20-23.
Note: Have you received the gift of God or Jesus Christ into your life?
But
as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children
of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood,
nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John
1:12-13.
Note: Have you received the gift of God according to the Christian Gospel?
Moreover,
brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which
also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved,
if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed
in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also
received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according
to the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
But
I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me
is not according to man. For I neither received it from man, nor was I
taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Galatians 1:11-12.
Note: Have you spiritually received the revelation of Jesus Christ?
