CELEBRATE EASTER!
Christians have a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Reason #1: Celebrate the fulfillment of the resurrection prophecy in Jesus Christ.
Acts 2:25-27 "For David says concerning Him:
'I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for He is at my right hand,
that I may not be shaken. Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue
was glad; Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope. For You will not
leave my soul in Hades, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.'"
Reason #2: Celebrate the resurrection prophecy that Jesus Christ gave about Himself.
John
2:19-21 Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and in
three days I will raise it up." Then the Jews said, "It has taken
forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three
days?" But He was speaking of the temple of His body.
Reason # 3: Celebrate the resurrection hope of believers through faith in Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be
the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His
abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance
incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in
heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for
salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Reason # 4: Celebrate the Christian preaching of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Acts
13:30-32 But God raised Him from the dead. He was seen for many days by
those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His
witnesses to the people. And we declare to you glad tidings —that
promise which was made to the fathers.
Reason # 5: Celebrate the Christian Gospel or good news message of Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians
15:1-5 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached
to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also
you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you
—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that
which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the
Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third
day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then
by the twelve.
Reason #6: Celebrate your Christian faith in Jesus Christ that leads to the resurrection.
Philippians
3:8-11 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of
the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the
loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ
and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is
through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the
fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any
means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
Reason #7: Celebrate Jesus Christ as being the way, the truth, and eternal life with God.
John
11:25-26 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who
believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and
believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?"
Note:
For modern-day Pharisees who condemn Easter for its pagan beginnings
the following would be appropriate. "What God has cleansed you must not
call common." (Acts 10:15)
