We are impressed that the mission of the Church is threefold:

-To proclaim the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people;

-To perfect the Saints by preparing them to receive the ordinances of the (1) gospel and by instruction and discipline to gain exaltation;

-To redeem (2) the dead by performing vicarious ordinances of the gospel for those who have lived on the earth.

All three are part of one work; to assist our Father in Heaven and his Son, Jesus Christ, in their grand and glorious mission "to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man."

(1) Correction: Salvation comes through the confession of Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.

Romans 10:8-9 But what does it say? "The word is near you, even in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

(2) Correction: The dead cannot be saved.

Luke 16:22-26 "So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. And being in torments in Hell, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy upon me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.' But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.'"

Baptism is essential. Jesus is traveled to the River Jordan to be baptized by immersion by his cousin John, called the Baptist. By participating in this symbolic ordinance, he demonstrated to all that baptism is the door into this church. From heaven, his Father acknowledged the important occasion, saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

Correction: Salvation comes through the confession of Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.

Luke 23:42-43 Then he said to Jesus, "Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom." And Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise."

Perfection is a long, hard journey with many pitfalls. It's not attainable overnight. Eternal vigilance is the price of victory. Eternal vigilance is required in the subduing of enemies and in becoming the master of oneself. It cannot be accomplished in little spurts and disconnected efforts. There must be constant and valiant, purposeful living; righteous living. The glory of the Lord can be had only through correct and worthy marriage and living a clean, worthy life.

Correction: Perfection can only be obtained through faith in Jesus Christ alone.

Romans 3:21-22 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God which is through faith in Jesus Christ to all and on all who believe.

1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world - our faith.
