Alpha and Omega
1) Yahweh is the Alpha and Omega or the First and the Last.
“Who has performed
and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? ‘I, the Lord,
am the first; And with the last I am He.’” Isaiah 41:4
2) The Father the King of Israel and the Son His Redeemer are one God.
"Thus says the Lord,
the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: 'I am the
First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.’” Isaiah 44:6
3) God wants Israel to listen to Him.
"Listen to Me, O Jacob, And Israel, My called: I am He, I am the First, I am also the Last. Isaiah 48:12
4) God wants the churches to listen to Him.
I was in the Spirit
on the Lord's Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet,
saying, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last," and,
"What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which
are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to
Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea." Revelation 1:10-11
5) The First and the Last is Jesus Christ.
And when I saw Him, I
fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to
me, "Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives,
and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the
keys of Hades and of Death. Revelation 1:17-18
6) Jesus Christ will reward the faithful with eternal life.
"And to the angel of
the church in Smyrna write, 'These things says the First and the Last,
who was dead, and came to life: I know your works, tribulation, and
poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say
they are Jews and are not but are a synagogue of Satan. Do not fear any
of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is
about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you
will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will
give you the crown of life.’” Revelation 2:8-9
7) Jesus Christ will return as God.
"And behold, I am
coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to everyone according
to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,
the First and the Last." Revelation 22:12-13
