Assurances from God
1) Believers have assurance that wickedness will be judged.
Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens,
I perceive that in all things you are very religious; for as I was
passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even
found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore,
the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: God,
who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and
earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped
with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all
life, breath, and all things. And He has made from one blood every
nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined
their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that
they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him
and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we
live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have
said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ Therefore, since we are the
offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like
gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising.
Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all
men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He
will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained.
He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”

2) Believers should have the assurance of the knowledge of God.
For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those
in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh,
that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and
attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the
knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in
whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians
2:1-3
3) Believers have assurance of salvation through the Gospel.
We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our
prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love,
and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God
and Father, knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God. For our
gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the
Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were
among you for your sake. 1 Thessalonians 1:2-5
4) Believers will have assurance of salvation through faith by Scriptures.
But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose,
faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, persecutions, afflictions,
which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what
persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yes,
and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer
persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse,
deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which
you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have
learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy
Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith
which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:10-15
5) Believers have the full assurance of salvation hope through faith.
But, beloved, we are confident of better things concerning you, yes,
things that accompany salvation, though we speak in this manner. For
God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have
shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and
do minister. And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence
to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become
sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the
promises. Hebrews 6:9-12
6) Believers can boldly approach God through the assurance of faith.
Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood
of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through
the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house
of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith,
having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies
washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope
without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider
one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the
assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but
exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day
approaching. Hebrews 10:19-25
7) Believers are assured of salvation through confession of faith.
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having
seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed
that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For those who say
such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. And truly if
they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they
would have had the opportunity to return. But now they desire a better,
that is, a heavenly country. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called
their God, for He has prepared a city for them. Hebrews 11:13-16
