Biblical Benedictions
Note: God will be a blessing to the children of Israel.
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: "Speak to Aaron and his sons,
saying, 'This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to
them: "The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine
upon you and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon
you and give you peace."' "So, they shall put My name on the children
of Israel, and I will bless them." Numbers 6:22-27
Note: Jesus Christ will be with believers always.
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given
to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all
the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have
commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the
age." Amen. Matthew 28:18-20
Note: Nothing can separate believers from the love of God.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or
distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written: "For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are
accounted as sheep for the slaughter." Yet in all these things we are
more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that
neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor
things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other
created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which
is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35-39
Note: The wisdom, knowledge, and ways of God are infinite.
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! "For
who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?"
"Or who has first given to Him and it shall be repaid to him?" For of
Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory
forever. Amen. Romans 11:33-36
Note: Salvation is available to everyone according to the gospel.
Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the
preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery
kept secret since the world began but now has been made manifest, and
by the prophetic Scriptures has been made known to all nations,
according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to
the faith--to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever.
Amen. Romans 16:25-27
Note: Believer’s labor is not in vain.
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus
Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always
abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in
vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:57-58
Note: Believers will be of good comfort, one mind, and peaceable.
Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of
one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with
you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the saints greet you. The
grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion
of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. 2 Corinthians 13:11-14
Note: Believers will comprehend the love of God.
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would
grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened
with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell
in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in
love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width
and length and depth and height--to know the love of Christ which
passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we
ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory
in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.
Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21
Note: Believers will love the Lord Jesus Christ.
Peace to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the
Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus
Christ in sincerity. Amen. Ephesians 6:23-24
Note: Believers will be gentle, peaceable, and virtuous.
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say, rejoice! Let your
gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for
nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with
thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of
God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and
minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are
true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever
things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of
good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything
praiseworthy--meditate on these things. Philippians 4:4-8
Note: Believers will be forgiving doing all in the name of Jesus.
Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender
mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one
another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against
another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all
these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the
peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one
body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in
all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns
and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And
whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:12-17
Note: Believers will be good people.
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the
fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. See that no one
renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both
for yourselves and for all. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in
everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for
you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all
things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. Now
may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your
whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of
our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:14-23
Note: God will establish believers in every good word and work.
But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved
by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation
through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, to which
He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord
Jesus Christ. Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions
which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle. Now may our Lord
Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and
given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your
hearts and establish you in every good word and work. 2 Thessalonians
2:13-17
Note: Believers will have eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you
were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence
of many witnesses. I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all
things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession
before Pontius Pilate, that you keep this commandment without spot,
blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing, which He will
manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the
King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in
unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor
and everlasting power. Amen. 1 Timothy 6:12-16
Note: God will use believers according to His will.
Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead,
that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting
covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working
in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to
whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21
Note: Believers will be established through suffering.
But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by
Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish,
strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion
forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 5:10-11
Note: Believers will grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be
found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; and consider that
the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation--as also our beloved brother
Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also
in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are
some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people
twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the
Scriptures. You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand,
beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away
with the error of the wicked; but grow in the grace and knowledge of
our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and
forever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:14-18
Note: God will keep believers from stumbling.
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you
faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God
our Savior, Who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and
power, both now and forever. Amen. Jude 1:24-25
Note: Jesus Christ has cleansed believers of their sins.
John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace
from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven
Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful
witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of
the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own
blood and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him
be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Revelation 1:4-6
Note: All glory belongs to the Father and the Son.
Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne,
the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten
thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a
loud voice: "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and
riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!" And
every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth
and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:
"Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the
throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!" Revelation 5:11-13
Note: Salvation belongs to the Father and the Son.
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one
could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing
before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with
palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying,
"Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!"
All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four
living creatures and fell on their faces before the throne and
worshiped God, saying: "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom,
thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and
ever. Amen." Revelation 7:9-12
Note: Salvation, glory, and honor belongs to God.
After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven,
saying, "Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to
the Lord our God! For true and righteous are His judgments, because He
has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her
fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed
by her." Again, they said, "Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and
ever!" And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell
down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, "Amen! Alleluia!"
Then a voice came from the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all you His
servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!" And I heard, as
it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters
and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord
God Omnipotent reigns! Revelation 19:1-6
Note: Salvation is free to anyone who comes to Jesus Christ.
"I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the
churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and
Morning Star." And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him
who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires,
let him take the water of life freely. For I testify to everyone who
hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these
things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book;
and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy,
God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city,
and from the things which are written in this book. He who testifies to
these things says, "Surely I am coming quickly." Amen. Even so, come,
Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
Revelation 22:16-21
