THE PILLARS OF CHRISTIANITY
1) GOD IS LOVE.
And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is
love, and he who abides in love abides in God and God in him. 1 John
4:16
Love definition: A profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
Throughout eternity, love has flowed between the distinct Persons of
the Trinity of God. With creation the love of God flowed toward the
creation and everything was good and perfect. However, through sin,
evil entered the world and with destruction and death.
God created humans with the ability to make decisions. Though mankind
chose evil, God was patient and provided a ransom in due time of
Himself in the Person of Jesus Christ. Thus salvation and a return to
good with perfection was the total work of God requiring only your
faith and trust in the work of Jesus Christ. Through the Love of God,
restoration has been provided for
humanity.
He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the
love of God as manifested toward us, that God has sent His only
begotten Son into the world that we might live through Him. In this is
love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to
be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:8-10
2) GOD DOES NOT CHANGE
“For I am the Lord, I do not change.” Malachi 3:6
Change definition: To make the form, nature, content, future course,
etc., of (something) different from what it is or from what it would be
if left alone.
Throughout eternity, God has always been and will be three loving
Persons. Despite sin, God has shown His love, mercy, and grace to
mankind. The longsuffering of God toward His creation has prevented the
punishment for sin from occurring much sooner. His unchanging love has
provided and escape from future wrath and entrance into heaven in the
Person of Jesus Christ. God the Father has sent the Son of God to
redeem mankind and together have sent the Person of the Holy Spirit to
help the children of God during this lifetime.
With
an unchanging loving God that created, redeemed, and empowers us, we
have the hope of eternal life in joy. His unchanging love gives us
assurance of eternal life in the presence of the glory of God. His
unchanging nature gives us assurance that Jesus Christ is the rock of
our salvation and He will bring us through this lifetime into eternal
joy and communion with God.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8
3) COMPARISONS AND CONCLUSION
Religions such as Islam and Christian cults that denounce the Trinity
are not based on love. For example, the index to the Qur’an of Islam
does not have the word love. These religions will continually denounce
other religions and specifically attack Christianity.
Christianity is based on the love of God that drives Christians to love
one another and show compassion towards those in need. The Trinity of
God created mankind to love as He loves having a testimony of Jesus
Christ despite outside hate. Thus, mankind has been created in the
image of God for love and good with born-again Christians fulfilling
the will of God.
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.” Genesis 1:26
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your
whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of
our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23
