Ephesians Chapter 6
Ephesians
6 outlines Christian duty in relationships—children honoring parents,
servants working for Christ, and masters treating servants with
respect. The chapter is famous for urging believers to "put on the full
armor of God" to stand against spiritual evil, focusing on
righteousness, truth, faith, and prayer.
Verse 1: What are children to do?
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Ephesians 6:1

Verse 2: What is the first commandment of promise?
“Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: Ephesians 6:2

Verse 3: What happens by keeping this commandment?
“that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.” Ephesians 6:3

Verse 4: What should fathers not do?
And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, Ephesians 6:4
Answer: Fathers are not to provoke their children to wrath.
Verse 4: What should fathers do?
but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4
Answer: Fathers are to bring up their children in the knowledge of God.
Verse 5: How should employees treat employers?
Bondservants, be
obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with
fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; Ephesians 6:5
Answer: Employees should be obedient in sincerity of heart.
Verse 6: How should employees view employers?
not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, Ephesians 6:6
Answer: Employees should work as if they are working for Jesus Christ.
Verses 7-8: Working for Jesus Christ should do what?
with goodwill doing
service, as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatever good
anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a
slave or free. Ephesians 6:7-8
Answer: What goes out comes around.
Verse 9: What should employers give up?
And you, masters, do
the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own
Master also is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him.
Ephesians 6:9
Answer: Employers should give up threatening employees.
Verse 10: Who should we be strong in?
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Ephesians 6:10
Answer: We are to be strong in Jesus Christ.
Verse 11: How do we stand against the devil?
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11
Answer: We are to put on the whole armor of God.
Verse 12: Who do we wrestle with?
For we do not wrestle
against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts
of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12

Verse 13: How do we prevent from getting knocked down by the devil?
Therefore, take up
the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil
day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:13

Verse 14: What should we protect our waist and chest with?
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, Ephesians 6:14
Answer: We are to take up truth and righteousness.
Verse 15: What should we protect our feet with?
and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Ephesians 6:15
Answer: We are to protect ourselves with the gospel of peace.
Verse 16: Our shield is what and what does it do?
above all, taking the
shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery
darts of the wicked one. Ephesians 6:16
Answer: Our faith in Jesus Christ will protect us against attacks by Satan.
Verse 17: The helmet and sword are what?
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; Ephesians 6:17
Answer: We will be protected by our salvation while using the word of God.
Verse 18: What should we always be doing and for who?
praying always with
all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end
with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— Ephesians
6:18
Answer: We are to always be praying for each other.
Verse 19: What did Paul request prayer for?
and for me, that
utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make
known the mystery of the gospel, Ephesians 6:19
Answer: Paul requested prayer for his boldness to preach the gospel.
Verse 20: Where was Paul when writing this letter?
for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. Ephesians 6:20
Answer: Paul was in prison at Rome.
Verse 21: Tychicus was what?
But that you also may
know my affairs and how I am doing, Tychicus, a beloved brother and
faithful minister in the Lord, will make all things known to you;

Answer: Tychicus was a beloved brother and faithful minister.
Verse 22: What was the mission of Tychicus?
whom I have sent to
you for this very purpose, that you may know our affairs, and that he
may comfort your hearts. Ephesians 6:22
Answer: Tychicus was to tell the Ephesians about Paul and comfort them.
Verse 23: Peace, love, and faith come from who?
Peace to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 6:23
Answer: Peace, love, and faith come God the Father and Jesus Christ.
Verse 24: We receive grace when we do what? Revelation 2:4
Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen. Ephesians 6:24
Answer: Jesus Christ is to be our first sincere love continually.
