CAN YOU EARN HEAVEN?
(Quotes from Jesus Christ – Summation by the Apostle Paul)
“Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:48.
➢ Are you more righteous than religious fanatics?
“For
I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness
of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of
heaven.” Matthew 5:20.
➢ Have you ever been mad at someone?
“But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment.” Matthew 5:22.
➢ Have you looked at someone and wanted that person?
“But
I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already
committed adultery with her in his heart.” Matthew 5:28.
➢ Have you ever stared at something and wanted it?
“If
your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you;
for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than
for your whole body to be cast into hell.” Matthew 5:29.
➢ Have you ever reached for something that wasn’t yours?
“And
if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you;
for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than
for your whole body to be cast into hell.” Matthew 5:30.
➢ Have you been through a divorce?
“But
I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except
sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a
woman who is divorced commits adultery.” Matthew 5:32.
➢ Have you ever tried to impress someone through flattery?
“But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.” Matthew 5:37.
➢ Have you ever resisted an evil person?
“But
I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your
right cheek, turn the other to him also.” Matthew 5:39.
➢ Have you always loved your enemies?

➢ Have you ever worried about food and clothing?

I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what
you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life
more than food and the body more than clothing?” Matthew 6:25.
➢ Have you ever worried about tomorrow?
“Therefore
do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own
things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:34.
➢ Have you ever judged someone else?

When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?” Matthew 19:25
➢ Did you know that God has a plan for salvation apart from your good works?
But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of
God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that
you believe in Him whom He sent.” John 6:28-29.
➢ Are you ready to place your sincere faith and trust into Jesus Christ for heaven?
For
there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory
of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that
is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood,
through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His
forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously
committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that
He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Romans 3:22-26.
What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to
the flesh? For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to
boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. Romans 4:1-4.
We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, knowing
that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in
Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified. Galatians 2:15-16.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He
loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together
with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together,
and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that
in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in
His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:4-9
Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His
prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according
to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy
calling, not according to our works,
but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in
Christ Jesus before time began, but has now been revealed by the
appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and
brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, to which I
was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. 2
Timothy 1:8-11
But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done,
but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of
regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us
abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified
by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal
life. Titus 3:4-7
