CHRISTIAN PRAYING

In this manner, therefore, pray: Matthew 6:9-13

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.
1) Do you worship God as a loving Father in prayer?
Romans 8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."

Your kingdom come.
2) Do you pray that people will be saved into the kingdom of God?
Colossians 1:13-14 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
3) Do you rejoice with thanksgiving in prayer to God?
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Give us this day our daily bread.
4) Do you pray selfishly beyond your actual needs?
1 Timothy 6:8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
5) Do you have hatred for someone in your heart?
Mark 11:25-26 "And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses."

And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
6) Do you pray for deliverance from evil by God?
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
7) Do you pray for God to receive all glory now and forever?
Revelation 5:13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: "Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!"

Summary: James 5:13-16 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
