REPENT OF SINFUL IGNORANCE!
Repent defined: to turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one's life.
1) God wants us to repent of our selfishness.
Matthew 9:13 "But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice.' For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."
2) God does not want you to perish but to repent.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
3) The goodness of God should lead you to repent.
Romans 2:4 Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?
4) Are you sorry for your sins? You will not regret it.
2 Corinthians 7:9-10 Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.
5) The Christian message is repentance of sin and salvation through Jesus Christ.
Luke 24:46-48 Then He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things."
6) Christians should be kind when proclaiming Jesus Christ hoping that people repent.
2 Timothy 2:24-26 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
7) Jesus Christ will take you out of Christian ministry for lack of repentance.
Revelation 2:5 "Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place; unless you repent."
Revelation 2:16 "Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth."
Revelation 3:19 "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent."
Note: Will you repent of sinful ignorance and be saved through Jesus Christ?
Acts 17:30-31 "Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead."
